I'm reading something on
washingtonpost.com when I see an interesting sidebar link: an article about the legacy of the MLB Wildcard. So I click on it, and I briefly gaze upon Slate's home page before the most horrifying internet ad of all time takes up the ENTIRE screen:

I don't know about you, but this isn't the face I want to see filling up my monitor on a Monday morning:

Maybe it's the mis-aligned eyes, or the pained expression - but blown up to 1024 x 742 pixels, this face is horrifying. Thanks Slate, thanks a lot.
